Acivity:
- 4 v 4 plus (4) (T)argets
- Directional
- Both teams trying to combine to reach the (T)arget players who operate in the zone marked T at opposite ends.
- On receipt of the ball the target players should recycle quickly to the opposing team who must then focus on quick counter attacking play. Their opponents have to react quickly attempting to get behind the ball as they take up the defensive role.
- Rotate (T)arget players every interval.
Scoring:
- 1 goal for playing the ball to target player on the counter attack
Note: Any spare players can complete a ladder or dribbling series. Ensure player rotation every 3 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1) Counter Attack
- Speed of play: Penetrate the opposition quickly
- Mobility on and off the ball
- Support angles and distances
- Quick turn over from defence to attack and vice versa.
2) The defending team need to try and get goal side as quickly as possible taking up thoughtful defensive roles.

INTENSITY: Moderate-high ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 2 min INTERVALS: 10
Activity:
- 4 v 4 plus (GK), (N)eutral and 2 (T)arget players
(one team waiting to rotate every 2 mins)
- The Attacking team (Yellow) start in possession and score through the large goal.
- The defending team (Black) score by passing to the (T)arget player, who then quickly recycles possession back to the attacking team.
- The (T)arget player is key in getting the ball back quickly to the players in yellow to set up as quick as counter attack as possible.
Progression:
1) Time limit for counter attack (10 seconds).
2) Rotate players
Scoring:
- Each goal scored from a counter attack is worth 2 points.

Activity:
- Place team into groups of 3 (2 teams playing 2 waiting)
- The team in black start the practice by playing the ball to any member of the yellow team, it is then up to the yellow's to counter attack swiftly past the passive black to finish with a shot at goal.
- The Yellow team then act as passive defenders as the 3 red team take up the ball and counter attack - - Simply the practice rotates with the counter attacking team becoming passive defenders.
