2-box numbers possession game
Set up/rules
- two teams of four or five players each
- the pitch is cut into two halves, one team in each - each team has a ball
- To start, the boys in each team are numbered 1-2-3-4-5
- Each team passes a ball within their own box
- the coach shouts out "Number 1 - get the ball" (or whatever number) and the numbered boy from each team runs in to the other box to win the ball.
- Whichever boy gets the ball first wins a point for his team. The coach keeps the score.
Coaching points -
- call to the passer/receiver
- check the shoulder before calling for the ball
- receive the ball with the back foot.
- move the ball to be far away from the challenger
