Handling and distribution (15 mins)

Goalkeeping Distribution (15 min)

Set Up: Players A & B Rotate shooting on goal as the GK make saves. On doing this the coach shouts out a number of a player and the goalkeeper then decides to throw or kick the ball to that player. The coach will mix up the distribution targets.

Variation: Move to GK playing with their feet. Remove A & B. GK starts with ball at feet as coach calls out a target. As each target receives the ball to their feet, the ball is played back to the keeper to the area outside of the post, continue foot distribution work.

Coaching points: Play firm balls out of the back, GK plays to forward foot of each player, GK is the first attacker!, Its important for the goalkeeper to have a variety methods of distribution.
