Description
Counter Attacking play. Set up as shown. 3v3 in Zone A with a 1v1 in Zone B. Players in Zone A must keep the ball for a set number of passes and then transfer the ball to their team mate (who is under passive pressure) in Zone B. 2 players from each team in Zone A must support and enter the opposite Zone and the game continues. A goal is scored for every successful transfer.

Practice Organisation
- 2 small gols at one end, to serve as target & one normal goal.
- Divide into 2 teams of 6 players (Reds & Blues)
- Players in each team work in pairs.
- Blue serve ball to reds, who send out 2 players to receive & attack goal.
- Blues send out 1 player (A) to make 1v2.
- Reds objective is to get ball into Blues end zone and shoot at goal.
- If Blue defender wins ball, a 2nd Blue (B) takes takes a ball and attacks either of the 2 goals at opposite end to score.
- 2 Reds become recovering D`s attempt to stop this.
- Reverse roles of team after suitable period of practice.
Progressions
- If Blue defender (A) wins ball in middle area, 2nd Blue (B) can support to make 2v2 & attack small goal to score.
- Reds send out 3 A`s & Blues send out 2 D`s to create 3v2 with normal rules applying.

Description
Winning the ball and counter attacking.
Set up as shown. Reds must keep the ball and score by completing 5 passes. If yellows win the ball they transfer back to their Zone followed by 3 reds and teh same scenario takes place.

- 5v5/ 6v6 game. Players are limited to 3 touches and a 1 touch finish.
- The players in the wide areas must stay in their box until the ball enters the wide channel (encouraging the players in the middle to be precise and the wide men to time their runs)
- Wingers should be encouraged to slide passes across goal/ pick passes our for 'tap ins'

Possession and then counter (20 mins)
Set up
Area split into 2 halves as shown above, play starts in one side of the area and is 5v5 with one floating player that plays for the team in possession.
Aim of the session is to male at least 5 complete passes before trying to counter and break out to the other half of the pitch. If the team in possession is successful in countering out then they start to build again until they hit the 5 pass trigger and then try to counter back to the other half.
