3v3 counter game
Rules:
Yellow and Orange players are to score by passing into the scoring zone (red cones) while other team is defending. Players off the field are ready to counter quickly if the ball is scored or goes over their endline. Any ball going out on the sideline is then played in by coach (ideally to create a negative transition)
Progressions- limiting or adding touches, passes attained before socring , ariel ball must be played into scoring zone
**Coaching points/emphasis**- technical and tactical parts of 3v3 defense including pressure or immediate chase, cover, and balance as well verbal/visual communication cues. Quick counters by team off the field is necessary to place other team under pressure and force into negative transition.

Counter 6 goal game - 5v5 +1 neutral defensive player in 60x60 yd field
Rules: Similiar to 3v3 counter game
Orange team is attempting to score on 3 goal while Yellow team + 1 neutral player is defending 3 goals.
Players off the field are ready to counter quickly if the ball is scored or goes over their endline with any ball going out on the sideline played in by the coach.
**Coaching points/emphasis** defensive principles, pressure or immediate chase, cover, balance, communciation, and forcing team in posession to a side. Quick counters by team off the field is necessary to place other team under pressure and force into negative transition.
Progressions- can be on limting or adding touches, 7 passes must be attained before scoring, or ball must be switched to score.

9v9 scrimmage using 3/4 of a full field or half a field if space is limited.
Rules:
Regular scrimmage rules with Coach designating extra points for immediate chase, great recovery runs, and good defensive principles.
**Coaching points/emphasis ** defensive principles, pressure or immediate chase in attacking and middle third, delay if not possible to win ball imeediatley, cover, balance, communciation, and forcing team in posession to a sideline. Encourage quick counters by team in possession to place other team under pressure and force into negative transition.
Progressions- limiting touches, a number of passes must be attained before attacking or scoring, team must high pressure and coach may play balls into negative transitions to start game back up instead of allowing throw-ins.

Warm-Up (15 mins)
Warmup- restricted to an endline in groups of 4 rotating (15 minutes with stretching between 2 progressions starting from left ) grids of 10x15 yds
Coaching points/emphasis - technical and tactical parts of 1v1 & 1v2 defense including pressure /immediate chase and cover, verbal/visual communication cues
*Progression 1 - Shadow drill at warmup pace, player 1 dribbles towards opposite endline at half speed while player 2 chases to get into better defensive position. Player 1 conitues to dribble toward opposite endline while player 2 moves back giving ground in defensive stance, then rotate. (3-4 min)
-Stretch (1-2 min)
*Progression 2- Immediate chase...player 1 passes in front of player 2 who's objective is to dribble over the endline player 4 is defending with player 3 chasing to get into better defensive position. Rotate yellow and orange players from offense to defense.
** Optional final progression- It becomes 2v2 game to endline if player 2 passes back to player 1 or if yellow steals the ball.
(5-7 min).
