Organization:
8-12 players set up as shown
playing area is 10 yards between pairs
one ball shared between each pair
Instructions:
Part 1 - players pass the ball between each other using inside of their foot
Part 2 - one player in the pair decides to receive the ball and place foot on top of the ball.
When this happens, other player/partner now acts as defender and QUICKLY closes down space by running towards & touching partner who has stopped the ball then jogging backwards to starting position. Drill is then repeated and defenders alternated
Part 3 - When closing down space, defender now as to stress sprinting towards target then slowing down as he/she gets closer to trarget, approaching target at an angle (side on position), touching partner SPECIFICALLY ON THE LEG WITH THE BALL then jogging backwards to starting position. Drill is then repeated and defenders alternated
Part 4 - After defender closes down space and touches partner's leg, partner is then triggered to dribble the ball by taking BIG TOUCH OUT HIS FEET. When this happens defender now steps infront of attacker/partner and wins possession of the ball.
Defender dribbles the ball to original starting position and repeats drill alternating attacker/defender
Coaching Points:
- sharp/accurate passes
- defenders sprint to close down space then slow down when approaching attacker
- side on position when jostling for ball position
- exercise patient when trying to win possession of the ball
- if defender cant win ball possession poke ball away
Progressions:
Introduce a netral line and if defender wins position before attacker gets to line then defender wins a point

playing area is 20X20 yards depending on numbers
White shirt - Attackers
Blue Shirt - Defender
Instructions:
Defender has to knock all the attackers ball out the square as quickly as possible
Whenever attacker loses the ball he can work with another attacker to play keep away from the defender
Coach times defender's performance
Activity is repeated until everyone gets a chance to defend
Defender with the fastest time is crowned MOST AGGRESSIVE
Coaching Points:
- attacker should sheild/use dribbling techniques to keep the ball away from defender for as long as possible
- attackers should play keep away for as long as possible to make defender work
Progressions:
defender as to win possesion of the ball before playing it out.

Organization:
Split field into halves or quaters. 20X20 yards
4 - 6 players on each field
Blue Shirt - defenders
White Shirt - attackers
players go at the same time for 1V1 games
Instructions:
Defender passes the ball to the attacking player. Defender is allowed to close attacker down after attacker takes his first touch 1v1 game is then on 30 seconds or a goal
If defenders wins the ball they are allowed to score
Coaching Points:
- AGGRESSIVE MENTALITY Defending & Attacking
- defender should be...
- accuracy of starting pass
- attacker should use proper technique to receive ball before starting dribble
Progressions:
- Players must make 2,3 passes before scoring
- Players can only make forward passes

Organization:
4-5 Players set up as shown

Instructions:
- Players in red (attackers) try to keep ball away from defender in the middle
- If defender wins/intercepts the ball then he/she takes place of the attacker that lost the ball
- 10 Passes or a nutmeg (ball through the legs of defender) means the defender stays an extra round
Coaching Points:
-passes should be sharp out of the feet
- pass the ball to teammates/attackers leading foot
- communication about where to pass or what foot to pass to
- open body motion/angle of approach before receiving pass
- defender should hustle to win the ball as fast as possible
Progressions:
P1 - defender can only get out be winning ball possession
P2 - attackers are only allowed to use one/two touches to pass
