Description. 1v1 to goal; ball is played across from blue player to yellow once yellow player has touched the ball blue comes alive and it creates a 1v1 situation to goal.
Technical - can we defend against the attacker, tryin to win the ball first if possible, if not can we force the attacker out towards either of the touchlines or away from the goal back where they came from. progress to 2v2.
Tactical - force them away from the goal and win the ball when possible.
Physical - improves strength against opponents
Psychological/Social - decision making is massive/being calm if we cannot win the ball

Description; 1v1 to 2 goals player in the blue dribbles in to end zone and knocks it into the goal. once the blue player has shot the red player can now dribble out and against the blue player 1v1 to either goal, drill repeats. change position of defender to suit when possible.
Technical - cardio workout, can the defender work hard to recover across and win the ball from the attacker. think about speed/distance/time/angle of recovery run to win the ball back.
Tactical - need to work on ways we can get back to an area in which to win the ball back
Physical - big cardio vascular endurance task/agility/speed

Description - small sided game, concentrate on 1v1 situations,
Technical/tactical - the speed/distance/time/angle that we approach the attacker. also look at screening a pass through positioning to help our team mates. can we predict the play? recovery runs? defending with the defender facing away? intercept when we can.
Physical - good football workout/cardio vascular/how to use their body to shield the ball away from opponents
Psychological/Social - decision making/awareness of team mates/opposition
Learning Objectives - put what they have learnt in the drills into practice.

Warm up 1v1 defending (20 mins)
Description - 1 ball per pair, each player takes it in turn to drive towards the passive defender opposite and reach the other line. once they are there drill repeats with now other player becoming the passive defender. defender will become active can they now get past the defender to the end line. defender needs to think about body shape/angle/distance away from attacker. can we force them to an area? weaker foot?
