This session is looking at Quick Play. Focusing on the technique of playing quick, the tactical side of why to play quick and within the small sided game looking at using overloads to help play quick.

Progression from the practice above however all the groups are working with the same area and are moving around. This will help develop the player’s awareness and decision making. Can the next player waiting to receive find himself in good support position in-between players?

Aim:- To work on playing quickly when a team presses high to help create the counter attacking situation.

Small Sided Game 5v5 with 2 floaters
Technical
1. Passing Technique
2. First touch/ control to help decision making

4. Forward runs / runs off the ball to create space
5. Quick play with combination play

Passing - Spare man
Description
This practice is used to develop quick thinking, awareness and passing.
The players need to be in a group of 4 with 2 balls.
The players will be set out as shown, the practice starts with one player (red) passing to the player opposite (blue) who then finds the spare man without a ball once he has passed that ball the next ball will be passed to him and the cycle continues.
